From clinic to C-Suite: Dr. Namit Choksi to lead Tend Health into its next chapter of purposeful growth and systemic impact.
With this partnership and a strong foundation of trust and clinical excellence, Tend Health is poised to scale its reach and deepen its impact—ensuring that mental health care remains accessible, stigma-free, and tailored to the complex realities faced by medical professionals and trainees.
A physician first and foremost, Dr. Choksi brings a rare blend of clinical insight, public health experience, and business leadership to Tend. Known for his ability to build and scale mission-driven healthcare companies, he steps into the role with a clear focus: advancing Tend’s values-centric growth while preserving its deep-rooted commitment to patient care—even as the mental health needs of frontline professionals grow more complex and urgent.
“Dr. Choksi’s leadership represents a pivotal moment for Tend Health,” said Arielle Lawrence, Chairman of the Board at Tend Health. “He brings a profound empathy for the clinician experience, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of success. His vision aligns perfectly with Tend’s mission, and we are confident that under his guidance, the organization will grow with purpose and integrity—without losing the human touch that sets Tend apart.”
Prior to his work with Asclepian, Dr. Choksi led APAC growth and strategy for bioengineering pioneer Perfect Day, building operations across India and emerging markets. At Northern Light Venture Capital, he worked hands-on with healthcare founders to build startups from the ground up—anchoring his leadership style in humility, execution, and a love for company-building. Earlier in his career, Dr. Choksi worked with Kearney, advising governments on expanding access to social insurance and health systems. His foundation, however, remains in clinical care. A frontline physician during the COVID-19 crisis, Dr. Choksi has firsthand knowledge of the emotional burden clinicians carry—insight that deeply informs his leadership philosophy.
“I will always be a clinician first,” said Dr. Choksi. “My leadership begins and ends with the patient in mind—but in this case, the patient is often a doctor, a nurse, a first responder, or a healthcare worker quietly carrying the emotional weight of the system. I’ve experienced firsthand how isolating and emotionally demanding clinical life can be. There were moments in my own journey when I needed someone to talk to—and the right kind of support simply didn’t exist. That personal experience is what brings me to Tend.”
Dr. Choksi holds an M.D. from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in India, with advanced clinical and research training from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a Master of Public Health from Harvard University, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is also a Schwarzman Scholar and previously completed a postdoctoral fellowship in mucosal immunology and genetics at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). During his time at MGH, he also served as Senior Advisor to the Department of Global Health and Human Rights, where he was responsible for developing and launching a World Bank-acclaimed medical device to prevent postpartum hemorrhage, one of the leading causes of maternal mortality globally.
