Ryan White Ribbon-Cutting at The Norfolk Department of Public Health
NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk Department of Public Health hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 16, to celebrate the official opening of the Ryan White Part A Program offices within the department’s facility.
Norfolk Deputy City Manager James Rogers cut the ribbon alongside Norfolk Health Director Dr. Susan Girois and Ryan White Program Director Dr. Cleophas d’Auvergne.
The event brought together program recipients, local officials, and health care advocates to mark the expansion of services designed to improve care coordination and accessibility for individuals living with HIV.
“This milestone represents our ongoing commitment to expanding access to critical care and ensuring compassionate, comprehensive services for residents,” Girois said. “Housing the Ryan White Part A offices directly within the health department allows us to integrate resources better and provide seamless support.”
The Ryan White Part A Program provides medical care, medication assistance, and essential support services to eligible individuals living with HIV. Co-locating the offices within the health department strengthens regional care networks and reduces barriers to treatment.
